2021 Bullet Journal Setup

2021 Bullet Journal Setup video is at bottom as well as last year’s 2020 Bullet Journal Flip Through!

Can you believe we are already setting up our 2021 bullet journals?! Weather you are a beginner or not these bullet journal spread ideas will give you some ideas for your own bullet journal. Last year I started working on my next years journal MONTHS ahead of time but this year I planned and finished all my beginning spreads within a week. I am keeping things more simple these days and reduced the size of my journal. Last year I used a B5 archer and olive and this year I am using an A5 archer and olive. If you’d like your own archer and olive you can use code sunflowerchild10 as many times as you want for 10% off.

Contact Page

I made my name and phone number really big with a message to please return if found. I would be so heart broken if I lost this journal! I don’t bring it anywhere usually so I think I’m safe 😀 of course I hid the phone number.

2021 Bullet Journal Cover page

I found this design on google and I fell in love! I love to start of the year with a cover page. I had a lot less room to fill this year since I am in an A5 journal instead of the B5 and I love it. It takes so much less time to fill up a page.

Photo of the Month

I love having this spread. I put my favorite picture of the month here. I don’t add the pictures until the end of the year. I made an outline to fit perfectly with the photos I will print. I’ll show you my trick in the next few photos.

Photo of the Month 2

I made a separate photo of the month for my baby. It will be cool to see how she grows each month. She will be 2 months at the end of January.

Photo Key

I found the perfect sized pictures to fit in this spread! My trick is the use the app called pic collage. Then choose the 4x6 sized picture with 8 horizontal pictures. Then I print it through amazon photos to make it easy and a single picture gets sent straight to my house for 15 cents! I kept a photo this size for reference and cut a photo to fit perfectly as a border so I can simply trace it to create a border around each photo. I noted on the back what it’s for and how many dots the border is. I keep this in the folder in the back of my journal!

Baby Monthly Updates

I’m tracking my baby’s monthly updates! I’ll write the things she is loving or hating and her current weight. I used the same photo template to make these boxes, they are the perfect size.

All about Kinsley

Another baby spread. I am tracking all of her important 1sts. I am leaving room on the right for something I will come up with later, maybe a journal entry or things going on in her life.

All about Mason

Same concept as above but this is my nephew. I am going to write random things about him. At the moment he loves to boop my baby Kinsley’s nose, I will write that in there.

All about “baby” page

My other nephew! He’s only 10 months right now. Just started standing while holding onto things.

Goals Bullet Journal Page

A must in every bullet journal, it is important to have goals. I like to keep mine realistic, it is easy to come up with so many things but I like to focus on a few. I am going to fill out the rest of the categories later.

Body Tracker/Weight Tracker Bullet Journal Page

I love to track my weight this way, this is a very simple but effective spread. I never remember exactly where to measure myself (next spread) so I left a sticky note to remind myself haha.

Measurements/Body Tracker

If I could go back I would move the quote to the very bottom so the “measure” title was not next to it. I added those doodles from the top of my head! Normally I have to look at a picture of them, but since I had drawn them in my workout bullet journal I remembered them. I’ll be sharing a flip through of that on my Youtube Channel soon.

Self Care Ideas Bullet Journal Page

This is a very simple page, I only included the self care ideas that I know I will actually do. I am going to try to do a different one each month. I used skinny washi tape as the page border.

Places Traveled

I added some travel washi tape at the bottom to spice it up. I don’t have much time to draw that is where washi and stickers are a huge help.

Books to Read/Reading Tracker

This sticker is available in my shop! I changed the title to “Books to Read” I penciled in a book I am currently reading. I didn’t want to commit to a pen for that just yet. I am going to add a checkbox so that when I complete I get to check it off, I love checking things off.

Wine Rating/Wine Tracker Bullet Journal Ideas

Ahh I am SO excited for the spread. I have a baby and ya know Covid so I won’t be getting out much. Drinking and rating wine will probably be my new hobby haha. I added in my husband so he can join the fun.

The Last Time I

This is to remind myself of things I often forget about. It isn’t a very pretty spread but it is very useful. Maybe I’ll add some color later.

Moon Calendar/Lunar Calendar

I created these stickers I also have a 2 phase version for only the new and full moon. I love to manifest with the moon. Each month I use the Moonology book to read about the current moon’s effects. I have a free printable on how to manifest with the moon here.

Birthday Tracker / Birthday Tracker by Zodiac Sign

I like to track birthdays by zodiac so I created these stickers because I did not have the patience to draw something like this! The following pages are in the BACK of my journal.

Social Media Tracker

This is the first spread in the BACK of my journal. Last year I had a really pretty Youtube and Instagram Tracker (shown in my 2020 bullet journal flip through at the bottom of this blog) but this year I am keeping it very simple. I have an online task list for my business and social media but I wanted these spreads in my journal. It is simple and will encourage me to work on things because I will see it in my journal. I often forget about my tasks listed online. I penciled things in because I wanted to write in an example for now.

Printables Business Tracker

I love working on printables, this is a simple way to keep track of all the printables I create. On the right side I washi taped a scrap piece of paper so that I can write messily and jot my random ideas down. I will throw it away and add in a new one once that page fills up.

Business Bullet Journal Page

I knew I wanted a page dedicated to sunflower Child Designs but I am still not sure how I want to use this page, that is why it is in pencil.

Facts about “animal”

This is in the back of my journal because it is not a page I need to see daily. I thought it would be fun to make this spread. I am using the same picture template I talked about earlier. I’ll add some color when I work on this later.

The Best of 2021

Why am I showing an almost blank spread? I am not making this spread yet but this is in the back of my journal. I penciled in what I am going to use these pages for so I do not forget.

A Year Review Journal Page

Same concept as above but I am leaving room for a year review journal entry.

Common Spreads I don’t use

I want to point out a few common beginning spreads that I never use. A bullet journal is meant to be whatever you need it to be, whatever works for you! Don’t use spreads just because others are doing it, use what you know you’ll benefit from or enjoy making. I have no interest in using the following spreads:

  • A future Log - because I use google calendar for all my appointments, I use my bullet journal mainly for a creative outlet. I won’t have my bullet journal at all times so I rely on a digital calendar for important dates.

  • A Spacing Grid - I use this nifty spacing stencil instead (not affiliated) I just love it!

How I fit all my pages in one bullet journal.

Once I finished my beginning and end spreads I counted all the pages I had left and divided it by 12. I now know I have 10 pages that I can use each month. Many people use 2 bullet journals but I personally prefer to use one a year. It is easy to go crazy and have a TON of random pages and it is easy to fill up your bullet journal quickly. Last year I found that I had too many trackers (such as a nail polish tracker) and what not to keep up with and I did not use them often. I narrowed it down this year and am only adding what I know I’ll use.

Supplies

I Stressed

It takes a lot of time to create a bullet journal. I started to feel over whelmed so I created stickers and pre-made bullet journal pages to help me and others out! I still get to create my own spreads but now I don’t spend countless hours, I just don’t have as much time as I used to, now I’m a mom! I have a ton of printables in my SHOP. I appreciate your support!
